Rwanda- Kigali,Kagame Axes Mwenda as his Advisor.
Rwandan President Paul Kagame has dropped seasoned Ugandan journalist Andrew Mwenda from his list of advisors.
Andrew Mwenda was appointed to the 23-man Presidential Advisory Committee (PAC) in 2011 during one of their annual meetings in NewYork, USA.
According to a source in Rwanda, Mwenda was dropped over ‘diplomatic reasons’ in the changes by President Kagame that saw six new faces take over places in the PAC.
Indeed, Mwenda was not part of the PAC meeting chaired by President Kagame, yesterday in New York.
Kagame retained most of the members that made up the PAC since 2009, except Mwenda and five others who include; Former Presidential Secretary David Himbara, former Rwanda Foreign Affairs Minister Rosemary Museminari, former Rwanda Minister James Musoni, Francis Gatare and Francis Kannimba.
