News in indicate that – Uganda has on Thursday 14 May recorded the sharpest rise in Coronavirus cases with 21 new confirmed cases from 1,593 samples of truck drivers.
The risk truck drivers poses to the spread of Coronavirus is a matter of widespread concern.
Ugandans on social media are clearly agitated by the news that 21 more truck drivers have tested positive today, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 160. Uganda has registered 63 recoveries and no death.
The country has severally been commended for limiting the outbreak of the pandemic. During an address on Thursday afternoon, the Minister of Health Jane Ruth Aceng said there was no evidence of community transmission in Uganda.
