Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) has lined up special events so that the whole community enjoys the Qatar National Day. Celebrations will start from 13 December and run till 18 December 2018.
Nasser Abdullah Al Hajri, Director of PR and communications at AZF said: “We are keen that AZF plays a major role in contributing to the country’s National Day celebrations with a programme designed to encourage loyalty, unity, and build pride in Qatar’s national identity.”
December 13th celebrations will commence with Al Adaam Flag Relay as a partner with Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) which will culminate in a grand finale at Aspire park scheduled to take place on December 13 from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm in the presence of VIP dignitaries.
The week also comprises a wide range of cultural activities such as the traditional “Ardha” sword dance – performed by Aspire Academy student-athletes, the 16 booths in Aspire Park will offer citizens and expatriates a chance to relinquish on a wide array of traditional dishes and desserts, or can enjoy watching live cooking demonstrations, click photos at the pop up photo studios and or get decked in intricate and traditional henna designs
Throughout the week members of the National Service, Qatar Armed Forces will perform the Military Parade by the Lake at Aspire Park from December 13-17.
Last but not the least, the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) will conduct a Parasailing performance, with members of the forces descending in different formations into the park will take place behind the lake near Al Furousiya Street. And on the side-lines of the event, films produced by Qatari filmmakers will be screened for audiences to enjoy throughout the week, in collaboration with Doha Film Institute.
