According to reports, a heavy-set white male with a beard, believed to be the suspect has surrendered. CBS reported that a SWAT team was seen talking with the suspect, who was crawling and injured. The extent of his injuries is yet unclear, but KDKA sources confirm ed the identity of the suspect as Robert Bowers.
Pittsburgh Police spokesman Chris Togneri confirmed that the suspect had surrenderd and and was in custody and three police officers had been shot. He confirmed multiple causalities, but did not divulge how many.
KDKA cited police sources as saying the gunman walked into the building and yelled, “All Jews Must die.” KDKA confirmed that eight people have died, and others had been shot but the extent of their injuries in unknown at this time.
